FS98 / FS 2000 United States Marines DC-3
Model by: John Kelley
Paint and Animation By: Charlie Solomon (a.k.a. Pongfu)

This is a somewhat accurate representation of a post world war 2 DC-3 in USMC livery. This aircraft was used to transport marines, if you didn't figure that out yet.

This aircraft was created using AF 99 and is a John Kelley design. Mr. Kelley gets all the credit for a great aircraft design. I am going to take credit for the paint and moving parts though. The paint job was done using Chuck Dome's TEXBMP2 tool. I used Paint Shop Pro to do the actual paitning. The moving parts were added using Abacus Aircraft Animator 1.1.

This is a somewhat difficult plane to fly. With a max speed of around 150 kts, it is slow getting in the air. The flight dynamics are very nice and seem to be pretty accurate. All credit for that goes to John Kelley, again. I need to note that this aircraft works in FS 98 and FS 2000. The only problem I have found is that the blue color in the 2-tone paint shows up as black in windowed mode when using FS 98. This may just be my vicdeo but I'm not sure. The black goes away when you switch to full screen mode (ALT+ENTER). It doesn't seem to have this problem in FS 2000.

This is the third aircraft I have done. The others were a Sukhoi 35 and a Piper Navajo. You can download these aircraft from my web site at www.tabletennis.net/pongfu or SurClaro. I hope that you like my aircraft and will tell all your friends about it. This is not all that hard but it takes a litlle time to make this happen. A lot of trial and error are part of the process. Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated. You can contact me through my web page by filling out the "FEEDBACK" form.

This aircraft is FREEWARE. You may do with it as you please. Just make sure that credit is given to John Kelley for the design and myself for the paint and animation. That's all I ask.
